Ana De Armas as Marilyn Monroe in Blonde is all set to come on the big screen. The premiere of the film ‘Blonde’ will be on 28 Sept 2022 on Netflix. The Director and writer Andrew Dominik is bringing the story of Marilyn Monroe with the historical psychological drama Blonde with Ana De Armas as Marilyn Monroe. The Blonde is based on the 2000 novel of the same name written by Joyce Carol Oates.
The movie has been rated NC-17 and had controversy for its fictionalized portrayal of Monroe. And Ana defended the film by saying that director Andrew Dominik was so thoughtful from the start. Blonde is reimagining the life of Marilyn Monroe from her volatile childhood as Norma Jeane through her rise to stardom.
Besides Ana De Armas the supporting cast of the film includes Bobby Cannavale, Adrien Brody, Julianne Nicholson, Xavier Samuel, and Evan Williams.
The film has been debuted at the Venice Film Festival where “Blonde” would go on to receive a 14-minute standing ovation, longer than any other film. Blonde is now playing in selected theatres and will premiere on Netflix on 28 September 2022.
One more thing that is coming about the film, the crew of the film including Ana De Armas has taken permission from Marilyn Monroe. Yes, it is true in a recent conversation Ana De Armas revealed that she and the crew has gone to Marilyn Monroe’s grave in Westwood Village Memorial Park on the first day of production on Blonde. She told that they have got a big card and everyone in the crew wrote a message to her and they went to the cemetery and put it on her grave. She said by this way they were asking for permission. She further continued that Everyone felt a huge responsibility, and we were very aware of the side of the story we were going to tell- A story of Norma Jeane, the person behind this character, Marilyn Monroe, Who was she really?
In a press conference, Armas said that she truly believed that the spirit of Marilyn visited the Los Angles set during filming she said “She was very close to us.” Ana De Armas said, “She was with us I think she was happy. She would also throw things off the wall sometimes and get mad if she did not like something, Maybe this sounds very mystical but it is true. We all felt it”.

Ana De Armas is playing Marilyn Monroe in the movie Blonde. Ana Celia de Armas was born on April 30 1988 in Havana, Cuba. She is a Cuban and Spanish actress. She began her career in Cuba and had a leading role in the romantic drama Una rosa de Francia in 2006. At the age of 14 in 2002 she successfully auditioned to join Havana’s National Theater of Cuba. With Spanish citizenship, she moved to Madrid to pursue an acting career at the age of 18.
