Ashley Judd is an American actress. She is the daughter of the Late country music Singer Naomi Judd and half-sister of Wynonna Judd.
A few months back on 30th April 2022, Ashley lived the most dreadful day of his life. She saw her mother dying in front of her. Ashley was the one who held Naomi’s laboring body.
Ashley and her family filed a petition in early August in a Tennessee Court. As per the petition, her family requested not to release any documents or interviews related to Naomi Judd’s death.
Recently Ashley Jude published an essay in The New York Times, where she poured out her heart about how she has been cornered and questioned at the very time when she was suffering from such a demise.

Ashley said that 30th April 2022 was the most shattering day of her life. Her mother thought that she won’t be able to recover from her mental illness and is only getting worse day by day so in the end, she decided to take her own life.
The trauma of knowing the fact that her mother committed suicide and holding her laboring body was like a nightmare to her. As she and her family mourn their huge loss, the uncontrolled and cruel misinformation spread about her mother’s death, and her relationship with Naomi is following her everywhere.
In her essay, she also revealed the reason behind the petition which was filed in early August. She wrote, “The horror of it will only worsen if the details surrounding her death are disclosed by the Tennessee law that generally allows police reports, including family interviews, from closed investigation to be made by the public”.
She continued that though she couldn’t do anything about her mother’s death, she can at least do something about how she be remembered. She experienced the bitter truth of how people who lost their loved ones get victimized and traumatized by laws by exposing their private moments to the public in the name of investigation. She added when people are in the condition of major shock, demise, and trauma, investigators ask them questions as if they were unguarded. Ashley wrote that she has to attend four interviews which were directed to her on the very day of her mother Naomi’s death.
She felt cornered and powerless as couldn’t even get to comfort her mother, in her last moments as the officers started questioning Ashley at the very moment. She wanted to tell her mother that everything’s gonna be okay and how she’s gonna see her father and younger brother but instead of all these, she had to participate in an interview with a bunch of questions that sounded as if Ashley is the suspect.

Ashley stated that officers are following the outdated process of interviews and interaction with the people who lost their precious member and were in utter trauma.
She added that officers were may be taught to act like this and now is the time they should be trained on how to behave in such crucial conditions.
Ashley mentioned that her family filed the petition because they didn’t want to disclose their interviews and information related to Naomi’s death publicly. This is not because they have a secret or they are scared, it is because when they were interviewed by the officers they were in a vulnerable condition because the information was taken on the very day of Naomi’s death, and at that time, they didn’t know what they are sharing and it could be exposed publicly.
Ashley’s interview was released on air on 12th August, where she is confirming that her mother Naomi Judd used a firearm to kill herself.
