Charlbi Dean was a South African model and actress. She has done Superhero based Television Series “Black Lightning” and several movies like Spud, Death Race 3: Inferno, An Interview with God, Don’t Sleep, etc.
Charlbi’s representative confirmed last Tuesday that Charlbi passed away on 29th August Monday in New York Hospital. According to the actress’s representative, Dean had a sudden death due to a specific illness. The disease is still not known. Dean was only 32 years old.
In 2008 October Charlbi and Ashton Schnehage, a fellow model survived a Car crash. She was hospitalized and had to go through a life-saving surgery. She got many injuries due to this car crash including four broken ribs, a broken wrist, and collapsed lungs. Her scars were also visible. She took a break from his acting career after this tragic incident.
The British Writer and Critic Peter Bradshaw shows his grief and tweeted “Charlbi Dean was a true star-in-the-making. Her loss is a huge one…. she had a singular style and enormous promise”
Fans are also showering their condolence and saying that the industry has lost an upcoming star and that she has gone too soon.
Upcoming Movie:
She had also an upcoming movie “Triangle of Sadness”, which is to be released on 21st May 2022. The movie premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival.
“Triangle of Sadness” is a Satirical dark comedy movie written and directed by Swedish filmmaker Ruben Ostlund. The film won the Palme d’Or award at the 2022 Cannes film festival. This movie would have been a turning point for Dean’s Career.
Charlbi was very excited about her upcoming movie. At the film festival, before the movie got the award, Dean told the Associated Press, “For me, I’m like, I’ve already won. I’m already at Cannes with the movie. That’s so unbelievable. Anything is just a Cherry on top at this point for me, you know?”
But we guess Universe had some other plans for her.

Charlbi Dean Kriek was born and brought up in Cape Town. At the early age of six Charlbi started modeling. She appeared in commercials and catalogs. When she was 12, she signed Alfa Model Management. At the age of 14, she continued her education by homeschooling. She also attended Waterfront Theatre School.
She made her acting career’s debut with “Spud”, released in 2010.
