Luke Bryan, the singer of “Country Girl,” and Peyton Manning, a former NFL player, will co-host the 56th annual CMA Awards 2022 on Wednesday at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. The star-studded evening features performances by Cody Johnson, Carly Pearce, Carrie Underwood, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Elle King with the Black Keys, Thomas Rhett, and Katy Perry.
Lainey Wilson, who was a first-time nominee, was at the top of the nominee’s list before the program and came away with several big prizes, including new artist of the year and female vocalist of the year
The industry was spared from headlines about how Wallen, known to the general public as the singer who was caught on a TMZ video using the n-word in February 2020, had once again been rewarded on his redemption tour thanks to Combs’ victory over Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Morgan Wallen.
The evening began with a heartfelt homage to the late Loretta Lynn, performed by Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, and Carrie Underwood. In a performance, Elle King and The Black Keys paid tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis, who passed away last month at the age of 87.
Nothing was spoken about the recent, well-reported social media controversy involving Jason Aldean and Maren Morris after Aldean’s wife, the influencer Brittany, posted an Instagram video that Morris denounced as transphobic. Likewise, any more potential controversies were avoided. Morris had already indicated that she would not attend the performance, but they were all there.
Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton both received numerous Country Music Award nominations. Both male and female vocalist of the year nominations for the Country Music Awards were made by Chris Stapleton and Carly Pearce, and both country music performers returned home with new statues for their trophy cabinet on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, Lainey Wilson and HARDY perform at the 56th CMA Awards at the Bridgestone Arena.
Along with Kelsea Ballerini, Carly Pearce, and Luke Bryan, other performers included Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning, who also served as hosts.
Several musicians, including Dierks Bentley, ascended the stage to pay tribute to Alan Jackson, who was given the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.
Marcus King performs alongside the Zac Brown Band in Nashville.
The audience erupted in screams as Jo Dee Messina and Cole Swindell performed a rousing cover of Swindell’s “She Had Me At Heads Carolina,” a reworking of Messina’s 1996 hit, “Heads Carolina, Tails California,” for fans of ’90s country music.

Additionally, Luke Combs took home two prizes, including the top prize of Entertainer of the Year for a second consecutive year and Album of the Year for Growin’ Up.
Many people were shocked by Loretta Lynn’s passing

When Loretta Lynn passed away last month, the country music community was shocked and grieved the trailblazing legend who had opened doors for so many women. The program began with footage of Lynn accepting the CMA Award for Entertainer of the Year for the first time in 1972. Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, and Reba McEntire then paid tribute to Lynn.
Even though it would have been appropriate for a woman to win performer of the year for the first time since Taylor Swift took home the honour in 2011, Underwood and Lambert were unsuccessful.
