Denver Broncos lost the Thursday night match at 12-9 with Indianapolis Colts. The Denver Broncos have played five games this season and scored 16 or fewer points in four of them. It has all devolved into too many penalty flags, missed blocks, dropped passes, and a general look of discomfort almost every time they have the ball. So, yes Denver is now 2-3 with two inexplicable late-game decisions from coach Nathaniel Hackett, both in prime-time settings.
The Colts won one of the wildest games in memory, sleepwalking through three and a half quarters before awakening late in the fourth and overtime to score a 12-9 win over the Broncos.
The 2019 Defensive Player of the Year, Cornerback Stephon Gilmore made the night’s two biggest plays, rewarding the Indianapolis’ faith singing him this offseason with an interception late in regulation and a winning pass deflection of Russell Wilson in overtime. The Indianapolis Colts remain a mess in many ways, but they are 2-2-1 and back in the thick of the AFC South race.
Ryan spent 14 years in Atlanta and Russell played his first 10 seasons in Seattle. Both quarterbacks are trying to get acclimated with their new teams and it showed Thursday night as both offenses struggled in what was a dull primetime game that had Broncos fans exiting before time expired.
In the field, Russell threw an interception in the end zone with a little over two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Off the turnover, Matt and the Indianapolis Colts went on a 10-play, 67-yard drive that was capped off by a game-tying field goal that forced overtime.
The Indianapolis Cotls won the coin toss in overtime and elected to receive. Colts went on an eight-play, 45-yard drive and converted a field goal to take a 12-9 lead. Russell and the Denver Broncos took over possession and got all the way down to the red zone. On fourth and 1 from Colts’ 5-yard line, the Broncos decide to go for it, but Russell’s throw was denied by Colts CB Stephon Gilmore, which won the game for Indy.
The colts quarterback said after Gilmore batted away Russell’s pass to Courtland Sutton in the end zone on fourth-and-1 from the 5 to give the Colts a 12-9 overtime victory over the Broncos “ It was just kind of a slog of a game”.
The game had seven field goals, a dozen punts, 25 third-down stops, Four interceptions, and six fumbles- none of which were recovered by the otherwise disruptive defenses.
Ryan said Our defense played lights out. He also said We need to play better for sure but I am proud of the guys.
The Indianapolis Colts Coach Frank Reich said about Gilmore That is the definition of a big-time player making big plays at the moment, Isn’t it awesome you can have a game like that and still win?
Injury in the game
The Thursday night game has a long list of injuries. The Denver Broncos, lost running back Javonte Williams (Knee) for the season and outside linebacker Randy Gregory(knee) for several weeks this past Sunday, and Left tackle Garett was carted off in the fourth quarter because of a leg injury, and linebacker Jewell(knee), cornerback Ronald Darby(knee), and linebacker Baron(wrist) did not finish the game.

NFL fans are clearly sick of watching the Broncos in primetime. Unfortunately for those fans, Broncos’ next game is a Monday Night Football showdown on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6.
