Hocus Pocus
If you are ’90s kids you all must have seen Hocus Pocus (1993), the story of wicked witches in Salem, Winifred (Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker), and Mary (Kathy Najimy), the sisters who were hanged up by the villagers, but the older sister and the clever witch, Winifred casts a spell which could bring them back at the Halloween night during the full moon only if a virgin will light up a black candle. After three centuries, the witches were resurrected by a virgin boy Max and they were again able to create a mess in Salem but according to the curse they can only be alive until the Sunrise, so when the sun finishes rising above the horizon the Sanderson Sisters converted into dust and died. Everyone was at peace with the death of the wicked Sanderson witches. In the end, the movie gave the hint that Salem was still not freed by the witches, as Winnie’s spellbook opened its eye, revealing that the wicked witches of Salem could return.

Hocus Pocus 2
The sequel of Hocus Pocus starts from where it ended, but if you haven’t seen the 1993 Hocus pocus, it won’t be a problem because Hocus Pocus 2 has a short flashback that could connect you with the movie’s context and the witches.
The Flashback will reveal how the young Sanderson sisters were abandoned by the Salem folks under the influence of Reverend (Tony Hale), who tried to separate Winifred from her sisters Mary and Sarah. To protect themselves from the folks, the Sanderson sisters ran towards the forbidden forest, where they met a mysterious witch (Hannah Waddingham), who gave Winifred the one-eye spell book. The Sanderson Sisters came back to the village at night to take revenge and with the help of the spellbook, they cast a spell and burnt Reverend’s house, although Reverend survived.
The flashback ends with this and the story jumps to 2022, twenty-nine years after the Sanderson sisters were gone, where the story focuses on three teenagers from Salem Becca (Hannah Waddingham), Izzy (Belissa Escobedo), and Cassie (Lilia Buckingham). Becca and Izzy were planning to celebrate Halloween and Becca’s birthday like every year but this time it was somewhat different as they were not celebrating it with their other best friend Cassie, who was planning to celebrate Halloween at her house with her boyfriend and his friend. Becca and Izzy after School went to a magic shop, the former Sanderson Cottage. The Shop owner Gilbert gave Becca a candle on her 16th birthday. Later Becca and Izzy celebrated the Halloween like old days when they lit up the candle, but little did they know that they were lighting the very black candle which could bring back the Witches of Salem. The girls lit up the candle and suddenly lightning started and there comes the Sanderson witches. Becca and Izzy hide out from the witches and realized that it was Halloween night with the full moon and Becca a virgin girl lit up the candle.
So now that the Sanderson sisters, and the witches of Salem are back, what will happen next?
