In her Interview, Jennifer said, “My heart has stretched to a capacity that I didn’t know about. I include my husband. Lawrence doesn’t disclose many details about her husband or her son. Though she does share her experience about her maternity experience. Jennifer said that she was grateful that she had girlfriends who told her the truth that, pregnancy is not an easy experience, it can be scary. They told her that maybe she won’t feel connected instantly or fall in love right away, and this helped her to prepare for the future.
Lawrence shared one of her moments when she was around in her ninth month, she remembered her walking with her friend and told her friend that everyone keeps saying that I will love him more than my cat. But that’s not true. Maybe I love him as much as my cat.
“The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over,” said Lawrence. She said that it felt like that was his first day of life and just stared at her boy and was just so in love with her baby. Jennifer said that she started loving all the babies everywhere. “New-borns are just so amazing. They’re this pink, swollen, fragile little survivors,” added Jennifer.
Jennifer Lawrence said that she now loves all the newborns and whenever in a restaurant she hears a baby crying, she used to be like, “Awww, Precioussss”.
Lawrence said that it is tough to discuss being a parent, as everyone has a different journey. If we talk about her parenting journey, it was amazing from the start, but for some people, it may not be that easy, so they might feel bad.
During the chat, Jennifer Lawrence also shared about her miscarriages. The actress went through her first miscarriage in her early 20s. Lawrence had already made up her mind about abortion, but before she could go for it, she had a miscarriage. After a few years when Jennifer and her husband Cooke Maroney were trying to start a family and she very much wanted the baby but while shooting for Don’t Look Up, she had her second miscarriage. This time after the second miscarriage she had to get a D&C (the surgical procedure).
Jennifer also talked about Supreme Court’s decision to strike down Roe v. Wade. She was very disturbed and furious by the fact that children or 18-year-olds have to go through so much due to this law. She admitted though she wanted the baby still sometimes she used to think about things that her body is going through because of pregnancy. She added she had a great and fortunate pregnancy but every single second of her life was different. Sometimes she also used to question herself, “What if I was forced to do this?” She preceded that how can anyone want children and not want to restrict access to guns?
