Starbucks celebrated its 50th anniversary Wednesday with a rare indulgence. The coffee shop invites customers to pick up a clean, empty, reusable 20-ounce cup at participating locations for a free cup of Pike Place Roast coffee.
The company’s signature medium roast, Pike Place Roast, is named after the first Starbucks location, which opened in 1971 in Seattle’s Pike Place Market.
