What is Dog Therapy?
Dogs are a common animal that is known to be loyal, friendly, and courageous as they play a crucial role in emotional support by providing affection and comfort to people. Dog therapy is used in hospitals, retirement homes, and schools to give people comfort and to help them in reducing their stress and anxiety levels.
According to Florence Nightingale, who was a social reformer says, in children and adults small pets are proven to reduce their anxiety levels and improve their recovery rates.
A number of ways are there to treat mental health, but Dog Therapy remains at first. Because of Covid19 most of the students are stressed and depressed about being alone, isolated, and having lost a loved one.
This is why at Grand Ledge High School, a Dog namely Gravy was introduced to school to help children to get rid of stress and ease comfort.
