The 5th season starts from the point where the 4th season ended. The first episode of Cobra Kai season 5, starts with Terry Silver being in charge of Cobra Kai expanding it and making it stronger. Terry is fully into making Cobra Kai bigger than ever. He is releasing commercials, and recruiting other Senseis, on the other hand, Daniel LaRusso is on a mission to defeat Cobra Kai permanently with the help of Chosen Toguchi. As it showed at the end of the 4th season of Cobra Kai, Miguel is going to Mexico in search of his biological father, in the first episode, it shows that Miguel is in Mexico. Johnny has quit Karate and focusing on the damage he had caused.

It is the 3rd season of Cobra Kai which is launched on Netflix. The first season of Cobra Kai premiered on 2nd May 2018 on YouTube Red. After one year Cobra Kai launched its second season on April 24, 2019. The second season launched on YouTube Premium (re- branding name of YouTube Red). Later Youtube decided to change its format, by banning the production of scripted original dramas. These made the series leave no home to telecast. Subsequently, Netflix took the Cobra Kai series in 2020, and then on 1st January 2021 released the third season, following the 4th season on 31st December 2021.
