Patrick Mahomes amazed the crowd at Raymond James Stadium, counting up to three touchdown passes as the Kansas City Chiefs declared victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with the score at 41-31, on Sunday night, October 2nd.
In the second quarter, Mahomes did his utmost as he laid a 2-yard touchdown toss to Clyde Edwards-Helaire. The quarterback was washed to the right. He moved towards the sideline and was able to spin past Devin White, a pro bowl linebacker. As two more Buccaneer defenders gathered, he flipped a toss to Clyde Edwards- Hilaire for the win.
It was the type of gameplay that reminded people why Patrick continues to remain a stellar player. When questioned about it, Patrick claimed that he was able to use his speed to get around the edge a little and as he was running for it and realised he wasn’t going to make it, he spun to Clyde.
It did not end here. Mahomes went on to have 12 plays and 79 yards as Clyde Edwards-Helaire were able to end it with a three-yard run to make it 14-3 in favour of the road team.
Tom Brady however was not going to lose without putting in an effort. He found Mike Evans in the end area twice sometime around the second quarter. That however made the deficit 28-17 in favour of the Chiefs, though.
Mahomes received the ball around when the second half started up and dropped 10 more points on the scoreboard for Kansas City. Jody Forston on the other hand, caught a 10-yard slant for a score on the drive following Matthew Wright, substituting in for the injured Harrison Butker, and was able to knock home a 44-yard field goal.
However, when Leonard Fournette was finally able to pick up his first touchdown of the year – a five-yard reception – it was already too late as the score at the time was 41-31 with 3:30 lingering in the game.
Mahomet was able to land 23-for-37 for 249 yards with about 3 touchdowns and interference while scrambling for 34 yards on 4 carries. Edwards-Helaire had about 92 yards and about 19 touches.
Brady had an excellent game this time with about 385 yards and 3 touchdowns on 39-for-52. Evans was his favourite target, as he caught eight balls for 103 yards.
The Chiefs will take their 3-1 record to the 10th of October, Monday when they will have to face off against the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium.

Mahomes and the Chief’s offence was unstoppable, presenting Tom Brady with a loss in which his offence scored over 30 points. It is probably the first time Brady has missed while earning 30 points since about 2018.
After the game, an amazed Tom Brady left a message for Mahomes stating that he was great and to keep it up to which the latter replied yes sir.
It is always amazing to witness good sportsmanship amongst players, especially between two great quarterbacks. Perhaps we will get another chance to catch a rematch of theirs in the future.

Mahomet is an American football quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). The son of former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher Pat Mahomes, he originally dabbled in college football and baseball at Texas Tech University. After his sophomore year, he halted playing baseball to concentrate entirely on football. He was chosen 10th altogether by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2017 NFL Draft.
He is also the only quarterback in the record to toss for over 5,000 yards in a single season during both university and the NFL. During the 2019–20 playoffs, Mahomes directed the Chiefs to Super Bowl LIV, their first Super Bowl arrival in 50 years, where they won against the San Francisco 49ers.
