Last week has been a very tuff time for the Prince Harry Royal Family . 8th September will always be remembered as a gloomy day for the Royal Family as well as for the whole United Kingdom. But as they say “In every dark cave there is always a bright side too”, for the Royal Family, this phrase turned out to be true. Since Queen Elizabeth died, his firstborn son is the first heir to the throne automatically became the and titled King Charles III.
During Queen Elizabeth’s ‘period of mourning,’ Prince Harry and King Charles III have been seen to be keeping their differences during this demise. This made everyone speculate that this might be a new beginning for the father-and-son relationship.
While conveying his first speech as King, King Charles III expressed his love for Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.
Changes in Titles of Prince Harry’s Kids
The Royal family changed in their titles as the position changed after Queen’s death. As Prince Charles became, King Charles III, his first son formerly titled Duke of Cambridge, and her wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge became Prince and Princess of Wales respectively. Their children’s name has also changed to Prince and Princess of Wales.
Consecutively, since Prince Harry and Meghan’s kids are also grandchildren of King Charles, they must also be titled, Prince and Princess. Prince Harry has two kids, a 3-year-old son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and a 1-year-old daughter Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor.
According to the rules set in 1917 by King George V that kids of the son of the Sovereign be allowed to use his or her highness title if they want to. Prince Harry’s kids are way too small to wish for anything, but the question is “If Prince William’s Kids had already changed in their titles, why Prince Harry’s kids are still titled ‘Master’ and ‘Miss’ on the official site of the Royal Family?”
On Saturday 10th September, King Charles’s spokesperson confirmed in a statement that Prince Harry’s kids’ names will get updated as and when they (spokesperson) get informed. He (spokesperson) continues that the page was updated for Wales and that updating live on the website isn’t the way how it works, hence they haven’t yet done that. The person added that King loves them (Prince Harry, his wife, and his kids).
Updating the titles of Prince William, his wife, and their kids were given by King Charles III himself. The King in his speech also mentioned that his first Son William and daughter-in-law would be Prince and Princess of Wales
But if we go back in time, it is very clear that matter is not as simple as it looks to be. We all know that since the time Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex stepped away from their Royal duties in 2020. This created a crack in some relations among the Royal family, and this includes a father and son relationship also i.e., King Charles and Prince Harry’s relationship.
We all must have remembered one of the most controversial interviews of 2021. The Interview of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, with Oprah Winfrey. In that Interview, Meghan revealed that She and Prince Harry have been told by King Charles that he would change the rules when he will get the throne and will deny the title to their kids.
In the same interview, Prince Harry also revealed that there was a time when his father stopped taking his calls. He after clarified that in the following year he and his father started talking but there is a long way to go.
In 2021 December reports were also there that Prince Harry and his father are Hardly on talking terms. Later on, next month King Charles in an essay for Newsweek wrote that he is proud of Prince Harry.
We can only hope that the kids Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor will get what their right is, and be addressed as Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
