An update regarding the Delphi murders case that took place in 2017 has finally appeared where a suspect was taken into custody on Friday, 28th October, by the police.
Trigger Warning: Death, Delphi Murders
The Delphi murders took the world by storm for their shocking and disturbing events. Liberty German, aged 14, and Abigail Williams, aged 13, disappeared while hiking on a popular trail in Delphi, Indiana, on February 13th, 2017. They were later found murdered sometime around the afternoon of February 14, 2017, in a wooded area near the Delphi Historic Trail, about a mile from where they were last seen. Prior to this, German’s sister Kelsi had dropped them off at the entrance of the trail a day earlier.

When asked about the update, Kelsi German stated that she is grateful to everybody. She also stated that she would not comment as of now and that if there were any questions that they are kindly referred to the Carroll County’s prosecutor’s office. A press conference is tentatively set and scheduled to be held on Monday at 10 am by the Indiana State Police. She additionally stated that she would say no more and that today is the day. She also went on to add that nothing is confirmed as of this point in time.
A few days following the disappearance of the girls, the investigators released a photograph of a suspect to the public who seemed to be a white man dressed in blue jeans, a blue jacket and a blue hoodie as well as an audio recording. The police claim that German used her cell phone to capture some images of the man walking across the railroad bridge prior to her death. German also recorded the man believed to be the killer ordering the duo to go down the hill. Sometime around April 2019, a video clip that was recorded on German’s cell phone was released along with an updated sketch.

Through the past few years, investigators examined thousands of leads in an attempt to search for the man, but no arrest warrants had been issued, and no arrests had been made earlier. There were however some leads they followed in the case.
The police authorities earlier issued a search warrant to go through the property of Ron Logan who was believed to be a suspect sometime around March 17, 2017. Logan apparently lied to the police about his alibi and also instructed a family member to lie regarding his whereabouts. However, nothing turned up. He died sometime in January and was never named as a suspect in the case.
Sometime around August 19th, the Indiana State Police wrote a petition to the Miami County Circuit Court regarding the custody of a man named Kegan Kline. He is currently in custody for 30 counts of child pornography-related charges some of which date back to 2016 and 2017.
Kline lived close to the location where the duo had been killed and was also linked to the murder case as he was in contact with German using a fake social media account and allegedly made plans to meet up with her at the bridge and is also apparently the last person she had contact with before she disappeared. Kline however has denied that he had anything to do with their murders.
The person taken into custody is believed to be Richard Allen. We now await further news of the case up till Monday when the Indiana State Police will hold their press conference at around 10 am. We hope that both the victims as well as their families will find some closure with this.
