Netflix has launched “The Watcher” a Crime-horror web series based on True Story and this fact is giving us Chills.
Netflix launched many horror web series in October and many are lined up, as it is Halloween month. Another Horror web series “The Watcher” has been added to the list on 13th October. The story is quite different and gives a frightful vibe as it is based on a true story.
The Watcher is a crime-horror American story about a married, who moved to a new house at 657 Boulevard in Westfield, New Jersey.
Life in 657 Boulevard in Westfield, New Jersey
Nora Brannock and Dean Brannock, a married couple with their kids Ellie Brannock, the elder daughter, and Carter Brannock visit a dreamy neighborhood in New Jersey to buy that house.
While their visit to that place every member of the Brannock family find or saw someone which made them suspicious.
Anyhow the couple liked that house and buy that House as they find it spacious and scenic. Dean Brannock thought the house to be a safe neighborhood for their children and was ready to buy it in any condition.
The story then jumps to 6 weeks later and we can see that the Brannock family has locked the 657 Boulevard house in Westfield and started to live their life in their new house in New Jersey. As the family started to live in their new house, they find their servant a little creepy as he enters the house to deliver the newspaper.
Mo and Mitch a couple who were shown to be eyeing the Barnnock family since the day they visited the house, trespass the fence and claim to harvest the Arugula plants which they planted. As the plants grow outside the fence and entered the Brannock house the couple without permission started harvesting and when Dean asked them about trespassing, they became angry and threatened Dean that they will keep eye on their family.
The Watcher
The Brannock family then receives a typed letter from an anonymous person who addressed himself as The Watcher. In the letter, the Brannock family were been welcomed by the watcher. The watcher wrote that in the past different families who stayed in that house were watched by someone and now it is his turn to watch the family of the house. The Letter was more of a threatening letter than a welcoming one. The watcher also warned the Brannock family must give the house what it wants and that is fresh blood. The watcher asked in the letter whether the Barnnock family knows the history of the house or not, The Watcher also talks about the basement of the house and he wrote that they might not be afraid of the basement now but eventually they will.
The Watcher continues to watch the Barnnock family and the Barnnock family continue to face creepy and suspicious incidents until they decide to sell the house.
True Story of Netflix web series The Watcher
The Netflix Crime-horror web series of 7 episodes The Watcher is a true story that is based on The Haunting of a Dream House,” an article published in 2018 in New York Magazine.
According to that article, the real-life Nora Barnnock and Dean Bannock are Derek Broaddus and his wife Maria. The Broaddus family got the typed letter the day they started living in the house and it continued and they got stalked by the Watcher till the time they left the house. As shown in the web series, in real life also the Watcher mystery is not yet solved.
