Thomas Cashman has been charged with the murder of Olivia Pratt-Korbel 9-year-old innocent.
22 August has been a very dreadful day for Pratt- the Korbel family, as they became the victim of a stranger’s fight and lost their 9-year-old gem Olivia Pratt-Korbel.
The Parents of Olivia Pratt met in person with Thomas Cashman, the person who murdered their daughter Olivia Pratt-Korbel.
Thomas Cashman was in Liverpool Court as he was accused for the charge of killing Olivia Pratt, who was shot in the chest, and of the attempt to murder charge of Cheryl Korbel, Olivia’s mother.
The 34-year-old Thomas Cashman from the West Derby, Liverpool kept his head bowed throughout the sessions, he spoke only when asked about his name, address, and birthdate during this 10 mins session.
Thomas Cashman who lives with her girlfriend and 3-year-old son, busted in Pratt-Korbel’s house and while attempting to murder Joseph Nee, a burglar.
Paul Russell, a 40-year-old man was also found guilty as he assisted Thomas Cashman in disposing of clothes.
Olivia’s Murder
On 22 August, Monday Cheryl Korbel, Olivia’s mother heard some noise from outside and opened her front door when a man forced himself into the house as he was escaping from a gunman. At the same, time the gunman from whom the person was escaping also entered the house. The gunman wearing a balaclava and a black jacket forcefully entered the house and fired 4 times, from which one fire shot towards Cheryl Korbel’s wrist, and ended in Olivia’s chest who was standing behind her mother and she died on the spot. During this attack, Olivia’s siblings were in the house upstairs. Olivia was later declared dead at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool.
Thomas Cashman, the gunman was targeting a 34-year-old man, who was found guilty of drug dealing and burglary.
Thomas Cashman accused
The incident happened on 22 August 2022, later on, 25 August, a 36-year-old man was arrested on doubt of the murder of Olivia Pratt. On 30th August the person was released. On 1st September Merseyside Police released CCTV footage of the incident. On 4 September 2022 one man was arrested on doubt of murder and attempted murder, and two others were detained on doubt of assisting an offender. On 7 September the suspects were bailed. On 8 September another man was arrested. A ninth man was arrested on 10 September 2022.
On 29 September, police arrested a 34-year-old man on doubt of murder. On 30 September, a man was arrested on suspicion of assisting a culprit. On 1 October, Thomas Cashman, a 34-year-old man was charged with the murder, 2 counts of attempted murder as well as 2 counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. Paul Russell, a 40-year-old man was also charged with assisting an offender. The two men appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on 3 October 2022.
