A young girl named Riley’s embodied emotions were the focus of the 2015 movie. Riley’s feelings are controlled by Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Fear (Bill Hader), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), and Anger (Lewis Black), who live inside Riley’s head and guide her through the challenges of growing up and relocating to a new city. When Joy and Sadness argue and Riley unintentionally loses some of Riley’s, the tension increases.

Kelsey Mann will helm the sequel, which Meg Lafauve will pen. Let me briefly recap Inside Out from Pixar and Walt Disney Studios. Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) is a young child who is experiencing some difficult emotions after hearing that her parents are relocating to a new city. Riley’s trip and the interior of her mind, where her emotions fought for dominance, were both shown in the Pete Docter (Up, Soul) directorial film. Viewers could clearly see the lessons Riley (and her parents) learnt about managing and feeling one’s emotions, from rage to scorn to joy and beyond.
