Aaron Rodgers was mocked by his Green Bay Packers teammates for taking ayahuasca as they celebrated Sunday night’s win over the Chicago Bears.
Rodgers had 234 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Bears’ 27-10 victory at Lambeau Field as he led the Packers to their first win of the season. His teammates seem to be paying attention to his midseason quarterback.
Near the end of the first half in the NFC North division clash, Rodgers found receiver Allen Lazarus for a four-yard touchdown. Of course, his Packers teammates decided to laugh at his ayahuasca trade.
Lazard turned to his teammates Randall Kupp, John Runyan, Aaron Jones and Josh Nijman and tried to get something out of the receiver. They looked back as they passed and drank before retreating.
This is a clear reference to Rodgers’ use of hallucinogenic drugs during the postseason. Ayahuasca is psychoactive that contains the hallucinogenic drug DMT.
The reigning MVP seems to be celebrating with some of his teammates down, but not just Lazard. Rodgers’ admission sparked a major media outcry, but his teammates seemed unbothered.
Lazard seems to have scheduled an ayahuasca prank in honour of Aaron Rodgers
Football fans remember when Aaron Rodgers revealed that psychedelic drugs helped him win the NFL MVP. Now, the rest of the Green Bay Packers are having fun!
In a Sunday Night Football game against the Chicago Bears, the Packers took a 24-7 lead late in the first half because Rodgers threw a short touchdown to Allen Lazarus. While impressive on its own, the real fun starts after the count, when Lazard appears to give ayahuasca to his teammates.
In case you forgot, ayahuasca is a plant-based psychedelic that helped Rogers improve his mental health. Psychedelic is a controlled substance in the United States, although it is not a performance-enhancing drug.
Packer’s celebration for Aaron Rodgers Amid ayahuasca controversy
Aaron Rodgers’ ayahuasca experience made national television Sunday night as the Green Bay Packers celebrated Allen Lazard’s reception by pouring tea on each other in the end zone during a 27-10 win over the Chicago Bears.
Packers’ wide receiver poured the tea into their teacups, and Sammy Watkins said “ode” to the trip to the quarterback and hallucinogenic drink. Randall Cobb played, saying the team was “just drinking tea,” while Rodgers himself tried (badly) to escape.
The reigning NFL MVP made headlines this offseason when he said he used ayahuasca to get back into superstar shape during a three-day trip to Peru in 2020.
Rodgers doesn’t think that this is a coincidence on the Aubrey Marcus Podcast. He has no faith in coincidences nowadays.
“There are signs and synchronicities all around us all the time, if we are awake enough to see them, when they come in and talk to us or bump into us, listen.
Rodgers said his experience with alcohol, which creates a mental reaction, helped him on a journey of “self-love” that made him a better teammate and player. Since starting to try ayahuasca in 2020, Rodgers has become the fifth player in NFL history to win back-to-back MVPs and found a career resurgence after slumps in 2018 and 2019.
The NFL said Rodgers’ test does not violate the drug policy and does not expect a fine from the party, although the league’s administration does not like the of psychedelic drugs in the national conversation.
